Indian National League

Indian National League (I. N. L.) is an Indian political party. The party was formed in 1994 at the Ivane Galib Hall in Delhi.

Party flag

The party founder is Ibrahim Sulaiman Sait. The party operates in various states.[1] In Kerala, the party is currently a member of the CPI(M)-led Left Democratic Front (LDF).[1] The party's president is professor Mohammed Sulaiman. Its general secretary is Ahmed Devarkovil (Kerala) and Muzammil Husain Delhi.

Ibrahim Sulaiman Sait, then national president of the IUML, rebelled against the party and formed the INL in the mid-1990s (over the Babri Masjid dispute).

Ahammad Devarkovil is the Minister of Ports, Museums, Archaeology and Archive in Second Pinarayi Vijayan Ministry representing Kozhikode South constituency in KLA

P. T. A. Rahim joined this party in 2019. He represents the Kunnamangalam Constituency for INL since May 2021 in KLA.

Controversy

INL was accused of homophobia after its youth wing put up posters calling homosexuals 'cultural terrorists' and demanding death sentence for gays after Supreme Court of India recriminalized homosexuality in 2013. The posters resurfaced in 2016 after the Orlando nightclub shooting.[2]
