Nairobi commuter rail service
The Nairobi commuter rail service[4] (NCRS) is a network of diesel trains serving Nairobi and its suburbs. In 2020, 13,000 daily passengers used this service.[5] After being modernized, the NCRS was inaugurated by president Uhuru Kenyatta on 10 November 2020.[6]

Rolling Stock
In April 2020 Kenya Railways acquired 11 refurbished Diesel Multiple Units (DMU) from Spanish firm Serveis Ferroviaris de Mallorca.[7] These trains were built between 1994 and 2003 by CAF as Serie 61 de SFM. The DMUs were running on the metre gauge railway network on the Spanish island of Mallorca.
