Nadeem Raza
Gen Nadeem Raza NI(M), HI(M) (Urdu: ندیم رضا) is a four-star general of the Pakistan Army who got commissioned in 10 Sind Regiment in September 1985. He is currently serving as the 17th Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee since November 2019. Raza was previously the Corps Commander of the X Corps (Pakistan) and CGS and General Officer Commanding 9th infantry division ,Wana and Commandant of the Pakistan Military Academy. His profile was so strong that he curbed all the competition for the post of Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee. He would’ve been the COAS but after the extension of Gen Bajwa he was made CJCSC. He has been awarded foreign awards of Legion of Merit of Turkey[1] and the Order of Military Merit of the First Grade on behalf of Abdullah II of Jordan[2]

Personal life and education
Born on 23 June 1965 in Wah Cantonment, Raza was a shining star in his school. He completed his matriculation in 1981 from Sir Syed High School Wah Cantt and later joined Pakistan Military Academy through 72nd PMA LC as a Gentleman Cadet. Raza is married to Syeda Bushra Raza, with whom he has four children, his eldest son is Zain Raza, Mahad Raza, daughter Hania Raza, and the youngest child Sajeel Raza. Zain is an avid book reader, Hania and Sajeel perform martial arts and Mahad is a horse rider. General Raza is a graduate of Command and Staff College, Quetta and National Defence University, Islamabad. In 1994, he attended the Infantry Company Command Course in Germany.[3] His father used to serve at Pakistan Ordnance Factory and Wah Cantt. He is the youngest among his siblings. His two brothers have also served in the armed forces. One retired as a lieutenant colonel while the other retired as a squadron leader.
Career
In September 1985, Raza was commissioned in the infantry’s 10 Sind Regiment.[4][3]
Nadeem Raza has served on the faculty of the School of Infantry and Tactics, Quetta, Command and Staff College, Quetta, National Defence University, Islamabad.[3]
He also served as Chief of Staff of I Corps (Pakistan) and brigade commander of 2 AK Brigade situated at Rawalakot.
In December 2016, Raza was promoted to the rank of three star, Lt Gen from Maj Gen[5] while he was serving as the Commandant of Pakistan Military Academy.[6] Lt Gen Nadeem Raza commanded X Corps based in Rawalpindi.[4]
In October 2017, Raza was appointed as 1st Colonel Commandant of the Mujahid Force.[7]
In August 2018, Nadeem Raza was appointed as the Chief of General Staff.[6] He assumed the position on 10 September 2018.[3]
In November 2019, Nadeem Raza was promoted to four-star rank and appointed as the Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee of the Pakistan Armed Forces. He assumed the coveted position on 27 November 2019.[3]
