Naane Varuven (upcoming film)

Naane Varuven (transl. I myself will come) is an upcoming Indian Tamil-language film written and directed by Selvaraghavan. It has Dhanush in lead role. This marks the 5th collaboration of Dhanush with Selvaraghavan, followed by Thulluvadho Ilamai, Kadhal Kondein, Pudhupettai and Mayakkam Enna. Dhanush will be seen as a cowboy and will be playing dual roles, one, as a protagonist and other, as an antagonist in this film.

The film's music is composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja while cinematography is handled by Om Prakash and editing is done by Prasanna GK.[1]

The film was tentatively titled as D44. On 14 January 2021, the film's title was announced to be Naane Varuven.[7][8]

Casting

Dhanush plays dual roles in this film and in one of the roles he will be seen as a cowboy in this film.[9] For his role, the actor had undergone archery training.[10] It was reported that there will be two female leads in the film.[11] Indhuja Ravichandran was cast in as one of the female lead opposite Dhanush.[3] Selvaraghavan, in addition to directing, is also likely to play a crucial role in this film.[2] Comedian Yogi Babu is also playing a key role in this film, collaborating with Dhanush for the second time after Karnan.[4]

Filming

Principal photography of the film began on 16 October.[12][13] On 16 February, the next schedule of the shoot started in Ooty.[14] On 11 April 2022 it was revealed that Dhanush had wrapped up shooting for the film.[15]

Music

The film's soundtrack and background score is composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja collaborating with Dhanush for the 6th time, followed by Maari 2, Yaaradi Nee Mohini, Pudhupettai, Kadhal Kondein, Pudhukottaiyilirundhu Saravanan and Thulluvadho Ilamai.[16]
