Mic Monsta

Molua Alous Mosima, (born, 6 February 1991) known professionally as Mic Monsta is a Cameroonian rapper and songwriter.[1] He rose to prominence in 2016 when his song "Fear" became popular in Cameroon.[2][3] He released a 7-track debut EP Mic Monsta THE EP in 2017.[4][5] The EP was succeeded by his debut album Kwata Dairy Vol 1 released in 2018.[6][7] Two years later, he released Vibes Clinic as his second studio album. He won Best Hip Hop Artiste at the 2020 and 2021 Muzikol Music Awards.[8] He also won Best Hip Hop Artiste at the 2021 Cameroon Music Evolution Awards.[9]

Early life

Molua was born in Kumba, Southwest Region. His father Mr. Molua G. Alous is from the Southwest Region precisely from the Bakweri tribe while his mother Kema Justine Senge is from the Southwest Region precisely from Barombi Mbo. He attended secondary school at G.S.S Kake-Kumba. He attended GBHS Kumba and did his professional education at Trustech Higher Institute of Technology and Professional Management in Buea.

Career

Mic Monsta began his career as a dancer and got engaged in open mic freestyles in local shows. He grew up as a starter in concerts as he opened up for the main acts. The freestyles were widely acclaimed and accepted and he decided to put out his first mixtape "My Thoughts the Mixtape" at Brain Box Entertainment in Kumba. The success of his mixtape earned him a record deal with Kreef Entertainment. Mic Monsta left Kreef Entertainment in the year 2017 to start up his own record label.[10]

In 2018, Mic Monsta went solo and started his own record label known as Kwata Music INC.[11] He released two albums "Kwata Dairy Vol 1 and Vibes Clinic.
