Maung Than Swe

Maung Than Swe (Dawei) (မောင်သန်းဆွေ (ထားဝယ်); born 28 November 1941) is a Burmese historian, writer, and a former deputy Minister of Culture of Myanmar.[1] He is well known for his writing about Burmese history, especially related to the Konbaung dynasty. His famous works include Konbaung Shindan (Konbaung Explanations) and Konbaung Alon (Beyond Konbaung). He has published over 50 books during his career.[2] He has also served as vice-chairman of the Myanmar History Commission.[3][4][5] In 2013, he won the Thuta Swesone Literature Award for history with the book Hti Thadin Nan Thadin (News of the Throne).[6]
