Mattan, Jammu and Kashmir
Mattan is a tehsil and a notified area committee in Anantnag city in the Indian union territory of Jammu and Kashmir.[3]

As of 2001 India census,[4] Mattan had a population of 6,367. Males constitute 52% of the population and females 48%. Mattan has an average literacy rate of 54%, lower than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 66%, and female literacy is 42%. In Mattan, 12% of the population is under 6 years of age.
