Mark Lebedew

Mark Lebedew (born 6 May 1967) is an Australian volleyball coach and former volleyball player, the current head coach of the Slovenia men's national volleyball team and German team, VfB Friedrichshafen.[1][2]

Career as coach

Clubs

In 2010, Lebedew took charge of Berlin Recycling Volleys. In 2012, 2013 and 2014 he won the German Champion title and was a runner–up in both, 2011 and 2015. In 2015, he coached Berlin Recycling Volleys to the CEV Champions League bronze medal after defeating PGE Skra Bełchatów in a 3rd place match (3–2). In 2015, he moved to Poland and alongside Jastrzębski Węgiel won the PlusLiga bronze medal in 2017. In 2018, he signed a contract with Warta Zawiercie.[3][4] He finished in 4th place in the 2018–19 PlusLiga season, the highest place in club's history.[5]

National teams

In 2017, Lebedew was appointed new head coach of the Australia men's national volleyball team.[6] In January 2020, he resigned his post after missing qualifying for the Tokyo Olympic Games at the Asian Qualifying Tournament held in China.[7][8]
