Manoj Bhatnagar, a gold medalist in Mechanical Engineering from Agra University, entered Hindi film industry as a music director with a musical hit Roohi. Thereafter, he is credited for more than 165 films in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, English and Bhojpuri as producer, director, music director, story/screenplay, lyrics and dialogue writer in different film posts in multiple languages. In particular, the song "Tholvi Nilayena Ninaithal" sung by P B Srinivas in the movie Oomai Vizhigal became a runaway hit. The song went on to assume the role of an unofficial anthem of sorts for the LTTE in Sri Lanka. There after, Manoj built a five star rating recording studio in Chennai and eventually returned as a producer-music director.
