Background

As an expansion team, the franchise were able to add three players ahead of the 2022 mega-auction.[4][5]

The franchise has chosen to retain three players ahead of the 2022 mega-auction. Marcus Stoinis was drafted for 9.2 crore, while young leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi was snapped for 4 crore ahead of the 2022 auction. After drafting three players, they were left with 59.8 crores ahead of the auction.

LSG signed up an additional 18 players in the auction. They purchased a total of eight players (5- Indian players, 3- Overseas Player) on Day 1 of the auction, which was held in Bengaluru, spending a total of 52.1 crore. They added another 13 players to their roster on the 2nd day of the auction. The most expensive player for the franchise was pacer Avesh Khan (base price of 20 lakh) who became the most expensive uncapped player when they picked him up for ₹10 crores. Following Avesh Khan, Jason Holder (base price 1.5 crores) was the second most expensive player, going for 8.75 crores in the auction.

All-rounder Krunal Pandya (base price 2 crores) was snapped for 8.25 Crores. LSG have bought a total of 21 players consisting of 7 all rounders, 7 bowlers, 1 wicketkeeper and 3 batsmen, in which 14 were Indian players and 7 were overseas.
