This is a list of football clubs located in Italy, sorted by division, then alphabetically, and including geographical locations, home stadium information and club positions in the prior season.

Former Serie A runner-up Livorno (18 seasons in Serie A, 27 seasons in Serie B) was relegated from Serie C after 2020-21, but the club dissolved before registering for Serie D.
Chievo (17 seasons in Serie A, 10 seasons in Serie B) was excluded from Serie B following an 8th place finish in 2020-21 due to financial irregularities and failed to register for play in 2021-22.
The below tables listing amateur-level Italian soccer clubs are out of date or incomplete. The following teams are presently participants in Serie D (or lower) but have formerly played at Serie A, the top level of Italian professional football:

Vigevano Calcio (11 seasons of Serie B) was relegated from Serie D to Eccellenza Lombardy after 2011. Pavia (4 seasons of Serie B) was also relegated from Serie D to Eccellenza after 2019. Biellese, Scafatese, Suzzara, and Trani each have played two seasons of Serie B, but presently play in the fifth level of Italian football. Centese, Gallipoli, Magenta, Portogruaro, and Sestrese spent a single season in Serie B but presently participate at the Eccellenza level as well.
Piombino (3 seasons of Serie B), Castadel di Sangro (2 seasons), Gallaratese (2 seasons), Pro Gorizia (2 seasons), and Maceratese (1 season) presently play at the sixth level of Italian football.
Molinella (1 season of Serie B) plays at the seventh level of Italian football.
Monfalcone (4 seasons of Serie B) was relegated from Serie D and presently plays in Seconda Categoria, the eighth level of Italian football.
Virtus Lanciano is a former Serie B participant for 4 seasons during the 2010s that no longer sponsors a team. The youth team hosts derbies with an illegitimate phoenix club for the city.
