References
- The Xi Chapter designation was issued in honor of Prof. E. W. Hilgard, Ph.D., LL.D. who was instrumental in the establishment of the precursor organization which was later established as the chapter at Berkeley.
- Beginning with the Tau Chapter, many chapters chartered in Michigan were established with 'Tau' as part of their chapter name. Due to this tradition, a few chapters were established out of date order to accommodate this tradition. Furthermore, there is no chapter with the name Eta Tau, perhaps due to the lack of an expected or future chartering in Michigan that never came to fruition.
- The naming of the Alpha Xi Chapter was inadvertently missed when reviewing the previously name chapters are "Xi" was not listed as a single letter chapter. It wasn't until 25 years later that the correction was made and the designation of Alpha Xi was issued to the University of New Mexico
- The Kappa Delta Chapter was named in honor of Karen Decker, wife of Past National President Thomas Decker, who were instrumental in the establishment of the chapter at Virginia Tech.
- Includes only chartered operating chapters
- Includes all operating chartered chapters and "new chapters" in pursuit of a charter/re-charter
