Kerala football team
The Kerala Football Team (Malayalam: കേരള ഫുട്ബോൾ ടീം) is an Indian state level football team representing Kerala in the Santosh Trophy.[1][2] They have appeared in the Santosh Trophy finals 15 times, and have won the trophy 7 times. Kerala last won the Santhosh Trophy in 2022. They defeated Bengal in the finals in a penalty shootout (5–4) on 2 May 2022 at the Payyanadu Stadium in Malappuram, Kerala. The score was 1–1 after 120 minutes. Kerala did not lose any games on their way to the finals. Their team was led by Jijo Joseph for the 2021–22 season. The head coach is Bino George. Kerala Football Team is a well-trained team because the players play for Kerala Blasters(R) and other clubs across Kerala State.

In the 2021-2022 Santhosh trophy held in Kerala (Payyanadu Manjeri stadium), Kerala won their 7th title, defeating West Bengal in a breathtaking extravaganza. West Bengal got the first goal in the 1st half of the extra time. Kerala scored the equalizer in the second half of the extra time. The match was taken to a penalty shootout where Kerala beat West Bengal by 5:4
