Kanawut Traipipattanapong

Kanawut's acting career began in 2015, when he played as "Young Tee", a guest role, in one of Channel 3's lakorn, Mafia Luerd Mungkorn: Singha. Years after taking a hiatus, in late January 2019, Kanawut is back on track, as he was announced[1] to star as "Type"— one of the main protagonists of One 31 and LINE TV's TharnType: The Series.[2][3] The series immediately gained popularity within Thailand as well as internationally.[4]

The surge in popularity resulted in a high demand of the continuation of the series. Finally, in February 2020,[5] it was confirmed that the popular series would get its continuation, namely as TharnType 2: 7 Years of Love. Kanawut would still star as the protagonist,"Type", in the series. It later premiered on November 2020 via One 31 and LINE TV.

From his remarkable acting in TharnType: The Series, Kanawut managed to win "Rising Star", "Best Young Actor" at the Kazz Awards 2020 and "Moon of the Yniverse" at the Yniverse Award 2020. He also won "Best Kiss Scene", "Best Scene", and several "Best Couple" awards along with co-star Suppasit Jongcheveevat.

In 2020, aside from his big project, Kanawut was also involved in a pilot miniseries, Secret Theory of Kissing, starring as "Neab", one of the main protagonists. In the same year, he also made an appearance in ต้องไป by IRONBOY.

In 2021, Kanawut kicked off the year by making several appearances in music videos of Thai singers, namely VYRA and Polycat. Later on, he was also revealed to star in KINGKHOM โคตรพยัคฆ์หยุดแผนล้างโลก, a short movie produced by Garena Free Fire Thailand. He acted alongside a legendary Thai comedian, Kom Chuanchuen, who starred as the main protagonist. Regrettably, Kom passed away due to Covid-19 before the short movie was released. The short movie is Kom's last work and named after the comedian to honor Kom's legacy.[6]

Kanawut's popularity kept surging as he was officially announced as an actor under Channel 3[7] in March 2021. Later in the same month, his impact as a celebrity is acknowledged when he was awarded "ICONIC Star of the Yniverse".[8]

Kanawut's latest news regarding his acting career came out in August 2021,[9] as he was officially announced to star in an upcoming lakorn along with, senior actor, Janie Tienphosuwan.

Kanawut started his modelling career in 2015 by posing as a model for small Thai-based clothing lines.[10] His career as a model rocketed after his portrayal as "Type" garnered attention. Kanawut walked his first runway for Wonder Anatomie, as the Thai brand celebrated its 10th anniversary.[11] He walked several more shows for different Thai designers.[12] Kanawut also participated in a campaign to wear local brands, working with several local designers including Polpat Asavaprapha.[13]

Kanawut has appeared on several covers of magazines, including the February issue of Harper's Bazaar Thailand, as the first boys' love (BL) couple to do so in the history of the magazine.[14][15] An outpouring of fans trying to read the article caused Harper's Bazaar Thailand's website to crash.[16][17]

Kanawut got his first solo magazine cover in 2020, when L'Officiel Thailand offered him the chance to graze its cover.[18] Since then, he has appeared on the cover of multiple magazines such as L'Officiel Thailand, Mint Magazine Thailand, ELLEMEN Thailand, Praew Magazine, Lips Garçon Thailand, etc. His successful streak as a model continued when Kanawut was chosen as one of the promotional models of Wrangler Evolution for Wrangler Thailand.[19]

Well-known international, as well as local Thai brands, also kept their eyes on Kanawut. It was proven as Gucci Thailand approached Kanawut to participate in several campaigns, namely, The North Face x Gucci, Doraemon x Gucci, and KAI x Gucci campaigns.[20][21][22] Burberry also made its move to have Kanawut in their boat, as he campaigned on one of the brand's collections of 2021, "In Bloom".[23] Kanawut was also invited as an A-lister to sit in the front row of the Burberry Autumn/Winter 2021 Menswear Presentation by the British brand and received his own camping chair as a gift.[24] Kanawut has been invited to several shows by the brand ever since. Recently, he also participated in another project to showcase a new collection of Burberry, the "TB Summer Monogram".[25] Other international brands Kanawut has been working with include Prada, Yves Saint Laurent, Onitsuka Tiger, Balenciaga, etc.

In August 2020, Kanawut was one of ten artists who joined a project, led by record label GMM Grammy, called Boyfriends.[26] Under this Boyfriends project, Kanawut released his first single "แฟนผมหาย" ("Missing Baby") with his colleague, War Wanarat, on 27 October 2020.[27]

Aside from his acting and modelling career, Kanawut is also presenter and brand ambassador for several domestic and international brands.

He is Presenter for Thai brands such as D.R.Drink, Bwell Drinks, Bucher Thailand, Roller Coaster Thailand and Thai cosmetic brand Cathy Doll. He is Brand Ambassador for the Italian home appliances brand Candy, 1st Friend in Thailand for the South Korean cosmetic brand Sulwhasoo and 1st Male Friend in Thailand for the French cosmetic brand Yves Rocher. He is also the Leading Light for the Self Love Campaign in Thailand for the British cosmetic brand The Body Shop.

On 4 May 2021, Kanawut was officially announced as one of the Thai Brand Ambassadors for the Filipino mobile operator TNT.

On 22 May 2021, Kanawut was chosen to be the Youth Generation Representative for Biodiversity by Biodiversity CHM Thailand.[28]

On 14 August 2021, Kanawut and his Scottish Fold cat Hazard, named after Gulf's favorite football player Eden Hazard, were officially announced as Brand Ambassadors for Thai pet supplier Felina Canino VIF.

On 10 September 2021, Kanawut was announced as new Presenter in Thailand for Swiss coffee brand Nescafé made by Nestlé, the largest food company in the world.
