Josh (2009 Kannada film)

Josh (Kannada: ಜೋಶ್) is a 2009 Indian Kannada language romantic film directed and written by Shivamani.[1] Produced by Sanjay Babu under SVP pictures, the film mainly stars debutants Rakesh Adiga, Poorna, Nithya Menen, Akshay, Vishnu Prasanna in the pivotal roles whilst Dwarakish, Achyuth Kumar, Tulasi Shivamani and Sihi Kahi Chandru feature in supporting roles. The music is composed by Vardhan, making his debut and the cinematography is by Santhosh Rai Pathaje.[2]

The film released on 10 April 2009 across Karnataka and went on to become one of the highest grossers at the box-collection for the year.[3] The film garnered both critical appraise and commercial success and paved way for the lead actors success in their careers. The film had a good run over 100 days successfully at cinema halls.[4] The film went on to win the Filmfare Awards in two categories out of 7 nominations at the 57th Filmfare Awards South. The film was remade in Tamil as Yuvan.[5] The film was also remade in Telugu as Keratam.[6]
