Jennifer Gutiérrez (politician)

Jennifer Gutiérrez (born September 14, 1986) is an American politician from New York City. She is the Democratic New York City Councilmember from the 34th district.[1] She assumed office on January 1, 2022, taking over from Antonio Reynoso, for whom she had served as chief of staff.[2] She has been appointed chairperson of the Committee on Technology.[2] Her district includes portions of the Brooklyn neighborhoods of Bushwick and Williamsburg, as well as parts of the Queens neighborhood of Ridgewood.

The Queens-born daughter of immigrants from Colombia, Gutiérrez is the first Colombian-American member of the New York City Council.[3] She resides in Bushwick.[4]
