James Melhado

James Joseph Melhado (born 29 January 2001) is an English professional footballer who plays for AFC Telford United, on loan from Salford City, as a defender.

Career

Early years

Melhado played youth football for Wolverhampton Wanderers for nine years until he was released by the club in late 2016.[2] He the joined the youth set-up at Burton Albion.[3]

Non-league

His senior career featured spells in non-league football with Newcastle Town,[4][5] and Hanley Town.[6]

Salford City

He turned professional with Salford City in July 2021, singing a two-year contract.[7][8] He made his debut for the club on 31 August 2021 in the EFL Trophy.[9]

In January 2022 he joined Ashton United on loan.[10][11][12] In February 2022 he joined AFC Telford United on loan.[13]
