Jade Rose

Jade Elizabeth Rose (born February 12, 2003) is a Canadian soccer player who plays as a defender for the Harvard Crimson in the Ivy League and the Canadian national team.

Early life

Rose began playing soccer with the Markham SC, before moving onto Unionville-Milliken SC, and then to the Ontario Regional Excel (REX) Program.[1]

In 2017, she debuted for Unionville-Milliken's first team in League1 Ontario.[2]

Rose committed to Harvard University for their class of 2025, where she will play for the women's soccer team.[3]

International career

Rose has represented Canada at the 2018 CONCACAF Girls' Under-15 Championship, 2018 CONCACAF Women's U-17 Championship, 2018 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup, and 2020 CONCACAF Women's U-20 Championship.[4] In 2019, she was invited to a camp for the senior team.[5]

She was named to the Canadian senior squad for the first time in 2021 for the 2021 SheBelieves Cup,[6] making her debut on February 21 against Argentina.[7]

She was named the 2020 Canadian Youth International Female Player of the Year, after finishing as runner-up in 2019.[8] In December 2021 Rose was named the 2021 Canada Soccer Youth Player of the Year, winning the award a second time.[9]
