Jacobus Sawandar Sampouw
Jacobus Sawandar Sampouw (born 28 January 1944) is an Indonesian chess player, Indonesian Chess Championship winner (1972), Asian Team Chess Championship medalist (1974, 1977).

Biography
In the 1970s Jacobus Sawandar Sampouw was one of Indonesia's leading chess players. He participated many times in Indonesian Chess Championship and won this tournament in 1972.
Jacobus Sawandar Sampouw twice participated in World Chess Championship Zonal Tournaments:
- in 1972 in Hong Kong in South-East Asian zonal and shared 5th-6th place;
- in 1975 in Melbourne in Asian Pacific zonal and shared 11th-12th place.[1]
Jacobus Sawandar Sampouw played for Indonesia in the Chess Olympiads:[2]
- In 1972, at fourth board in the 20th Chess Olympiad in Skopje (+6, =5, -8),
- In 1974, at second board in the 21st Chess Olympiad in Nice (+8, =2, -6),
- In 1978, at first reserve board in the 23rd Chess Olympiad in Buenos Aires (+4, =2, -5).
Jacobus Sawandar Sampouw played for Indonesia in the Men's Asian Team Chess Championships:[3]
