Jackson Wild

Jackson Wild, formerly Jackson Hole Wildlife Film Festival,[1] is a film festival turned nonprofit founded in 1991. Jackson Wild is based in Jackson Hole in the state of Wyoming, USA. They are primarily known for an annual Summit for professionals in the natural history filmmaking and media space, which includes media awards and conversations centered around a specific conservation theme. The conference has traditionally been held within Grand Teton National Park at the Jackson Lake Lodge.

The organization also hosts events around the world, including their annual "World Wildlife Day Film Showcase" organized by Jackson Wild, CITES, and the UNDP. Alongside events, Jackson Wild produces different programs that support emerging filmmakers, such as African Conservation Voices and Media Lab.

More recently Jackson Wild created the Collective. The group is free to join.

2020 Summit

Barry Donnelly won Best Audioscape in the Science and Media Awards, for My Octopus Teacher.[2] This film shows the unique relationship between Craig Foster and an octopus in a South African kelp forest. The film won Best Documentary Feature at the 93rd Academy Awards.[3]

2021 Summit

The 2021 Summit took place September 27 - September 30 at the Jackson Hole Center for the Arts, live-streamed alongside additional on-demand virtual programming to make the Summit globally inclusive and accessible. The Grand Teton Award (Best of Festival) was given to YOUTH v GOV by Barrelmaker Productions and Vulcan Productions.
