Italian dialects

Italian dialects may refer to any of the following linguistic notions:

  • the various dialects pertaining to different languages which are spoken in Italy, regardless of the origins thereof;
  • the Italoromance languoids, which are related to Italian, but do not stem from it;
  • the actual dialects of Italian, with relatively minor divergences from the standard language based upon regional variations.
