Plot

Vasudhara 'Vasu' is a brilliant and scholar student who dreams to reach high levels in her life through education. Rishi is an arrogant and short tempered person who is the Managing Director and a professor of a college, DBST which is owned by his own family. Vasu elopes from her forced wedding with her brother-in-law Rajiv, a widower who lusts for her and convinces Vasu's orthodox father to let him marry her for the sake of his motherless child. Vasu's mentor and professor Jagathi contacts her estranged husband Mahendra to help Vasu in gaining a seat in DBST college without the knowledge of their son Rishi, who hates Jagathi and misinterprets that she left him for her career while she has actually left to care for her ailing parents after an accident, having been influenced by his aunt Devayani, who envies Jagathi and is the main cause for her leaving.

Rishi refuses to give an admission to Vasu as he had previously seen her with Jagathi and bombards her with questions to defeat her but she passes all the obstacles and Rishi gives seat to her. After being shot by Rajiv, Jagathi is admitted into a hospital in Hyderabad and settles there under Mahendra's insistence. Devyani's daughter-in-law Dharani (whose husband is made to stay away in foreign by Devayani) and Suhasini, Rishi's aunt visit Jagathi and this is exposed to Devayani, who is angry and slaps Dharani. Eventually, he understands her talent and supports her. He saves her from the lustful conspiracies of Rajiv and the latter is jailed by Sireesh, Vasu's friend and a Police officer. Vasu wins the title of 'Youth Icon'. Jagathi is employed in Mission Education, a project assigned to the college by Educational ministry. Mahendra and Jagathi realize Rishi's feelings for Vasu and tries convince him of the same. However, he doesn't feel in that way. Later, he misunderstands that Vasu is about to be engaged to Sireesh while she is actually helping him to woo a girl. Mahendra plays along Rishi's misunderstanding to make him realize his feelings for her.

However, Rishi learns the truth. Mission Education becomes a grand success and Rishi accepts Jagathi as a professor. Rishi's friend Gautham comes from America and harbours feelings for Vasu. Mahendra suffers from a stroke and Rishi brings Jagathi home to make him happy which is hated by Devayani. Rishi learns that Gautham loves Vasu and feels insecure though he doesn't realize his feelings for her. A short film is filmed based on Mission Education and Vasu and Rishi act in it much to Devayani's chagrin. During the press meet on success of the short film, Devayani bribes a reporter to question Jagathi about her husband and insult her but her plans turn upside down when Mahendra reveals to everyone that Jagathi is his wife and Rishi's mother. With a heavy heart, Jagathi moves out of the house but Mahendra too starts living with her which bridges a gap between him and Rishi. Jagathi wants Mahendra to go back. Rishi eventually brings Jagathi and Mahendra back home during latter's birthday party. Vasu begins to live in a rented single-room house given by the café's manager, where she works part time. Rajeev returns and attacks Rishi and Vasu in the latter's room. To ensure her safety, Rishi brings Vasu to his home much to the chagrin of Devayani, who privately insults Vasu and accuses her of trapping Rishi for money.
