Gu Gu Ganmo

Gu Gu Ganmo (Japanese: Gu-Guガンモ, Hepburn: Gu-Gu Ganmo) is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Fujihiko Hosono. It was originally serialized in Shogakukan's Weekly Shōnen Sunday from 1982 to 1985, and was collected into 12 bound volumes. It was adapted into a fifty-episode anime television series which aired from 1984 to 1985.

Plot


The Secrets of Oedo Elementary School

The protagonist, Linda, is a student at Oedo Elementary School. She becomes friends with Hanpeita, the daughter of an art teacher at the school. One day they decide to explore the school's old building and come across a secret door behind a painting that leads to an empty corridor. The walls are lined with paintings of monsters from literature's most famous stories. They soon discover that the paintings come alive and when they run off in fear, one of them comes after them and catches up to them at their classroom window.
