Global Indian International School

Global Indian International School (GIIS) is an international school initially established in 2002, initiated and headquartered in Singapore.[2] GIIS has presence in over seven countries and 23 campuses which include those in Singapore (East Coast and PG - SMART Campus), Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur), India (Hyderabad, Pune, Ahmedabad, Noida, and Bangalore), UAE (Abu Dhabi and Dubai), Thailand (Bangkok), Vietnam (Ho Chi Minh City) and Japan (Tokyo).[3]

History

GIIS is a Singapore-headquartered network of schools established in 2002 under the aegis of Global Schools Foundation with the aim of providing education to the expatriate community in Singapore.[4] The school has since expanded across South East Asia, Japan, Middle East and India.

In 2013, a 13 year-old student of GIIS was arrested after he made an alleged bomb threat.[5]

Campuses

There are 21 GIIS campuses in seven countries - Singapore, Malaysia, Japan, Thailand, United Arab Emirates, Vietnam and India[6] (Noida, Bangalore, Ahmedabad,[7] Surat & others).

The most recent campus is the GIIS SMART Campus situated at Punggol Singapore.

Educational programmes offered by GIIS include:[8]

  • International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IB PYP) (In Singapore and Tokyo)
  • Cambridge Lower Secondary Programme (CLSP) (In Singapore, Tokyo and Kuala Lumpur)
  • Cambridge's International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) (In Singapore, Kuala Lumpur)
  • International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) (In Singapore, Tokyo)

Facilities

As with most modern schools, GIIS campuses provide technological equipment like 3D printers, laptop carts, and Wi-Fi connectivity.[9] There is also emphasis on sports, with extra-curricular activities like basketball, tennis, and soccer being played competitively.[10]
