History

GlassesUSA.com was founded in 2008 by Daniel Rothman (chief executive officer), Eldad Rothman (chief operating officer), and Roy Yamner (chief technology officer). GlassesUSA.com is part of Optimax Eyewear group, a company that aims to disrupt the $40 billion eyewear industry in the United States.[4][5] GlassesUSA.com has more than 2.4 million customers and the company's website gets more than 26 million annual visits.

GlassesUSA.com has raised a total of $95 million in funding, with Viola Growth[6] as the leading investor.[7][8]

Brands and Partnerships

In 2015, GlassesUSA.com launched their initial house brands, which include Ottoto, Muse, Amelia E, Revel,  which offer more than 3,500 optical styles.[9][10]

In 2017, GlassesUSA.com started selling contact lenses.[11] The company sells multiple types of lenses and brands such as Acuvue, Air Optix, and more and introduced their own brand of contact lenses called Vista plus in January 2022.[12]

In January 2018, GlassesUSA.com announced a partnership with Hilary Duff to launch Muse x Hilary Duff Eyewear,[13] a line of more than 100 frame styles and 3 collection drops[14][15] anchored on the actress’ mission to empower and help women feel confident and comfortable in their own skin.[16][17] Variety coined the collection as some of the best celebrity-designed sunglasses.[18]

In May 2020, GlassesUSA.com became the first native online brand to become an official In-Network Provider of United Healthcare.[19][20]

In June 2020, GlassesUSA.com announced the company’s first steps towards sustainability with SeaClean[21] Glasses, made of upcycled bottles, coffee grinds, wood, hemp, and ocean plastic.[22]

In September 2020, GlassesUSA.com launched a new luxury fashion eyewear capsule by Champion.[23][24] The collection was made up of 18 eyeglasses and 14 sunglasses and was only sold at GlassesUSA.com.[25] The collection was designed by graffiti artist Andrea Trainer and featured a 14 karat gold frame.[26]

In November 2020, GlassesUSA.com joined the wearables market with Revel Tune smart audio glasses,[27] complete with built-in high quality speakers and open-ear sound with noise reduction.[28]

In June 2021, GlassesUSA.com and Transitions Optical teamed up with a launch of colorful, limited-edition pastel tinted lenses.[29][30]

In November 2021, Ray-Ban partnered with GlassesUSA.com for an exclusive launch[31] of the best selling[32] optical in North America, the Clubmaster[33] in a new color - transparent grey with silver metal. The style was only sold at GlassesUSA.com and marked the first ever partnership of its kind.[34][35]
