German trawler V 209 Carl Röver

V 209 Carl Röver was a German fishing trawler which was converted into a Vorpostenboot by the Kriegsmarine. The ship was named for Carl Röver, a Nazi Gauleiter and party official.[1]

The Carl Röver was one of the first two built by Bremenhaver-based shipbuilder Seebeckwerft after Hitler's rise to power, along with R. Walter Darré.[1] It was a part of the Festungkriegsübung Swinemünde naval exercises on 10 June 1937. Designated V 209 in September 1939, it was transferred to the 2nd Vorposten-flotille shortly thereafter.[1]
