Gerardo Lebredo Zarragoitia (born 3 August 1950) is a Cuban chess International master (IM) (1977), Cuban Chess Championship winner (1977).

Biography
Gerardo Lebredo Zarragoitia was one of Cuba's leading chess players in the 1970s. In 1977, he shared first place with José Luis Vilela de Acuña and Jesús Nogueiras in Cuban Chess Championship. All three chess players have been declared Cuban chess champions.
Gerardo Lebredo Zarragoitia played for Cuba in the Chess Olympiads:[1]
- In 1970, at second reserve board in the 19th Chess Olympiad in Siegen (+3, =3, -0),
- In 1978, at second reserve board in the 23rd Chess Olympiad in Buenos Aires (+0, =1, -1).
Gerardo Lebredo Zarragoitia played for Cuba in the World Student Team Chess Championships:[2]
- In 1966, at fourth board in the 13th World Student Team Chess Championship in Örebro (+5, =5, -0),
- In 1969, at second board in the 16th World Student Team Chess Championship in Dresden (+3, =3, -6),
- In 1976, at second reserve board in the 21st World Student Team Chess Championship in Caracas (+3, =2, -0) and won team bronze medal.
In 1977, Gerardo Lebredo Zarragoitia was awarded the FIDE International Master (IM) title. He has worked as a teacher in various Cuban physical education schools, publishing scientific articles about chess study.[3]
