Finland in the Eurovision Song Contest 2002
Finland was present at the Eurovision Song Contest 2002 in Tallinn, Estonia, after being relegated from the 2001 contest.

Before Eurovision
Euroviisut 2002
Euroviisut 2002 was the national final that selects Finland's entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2002. The competition took place on 26 January 2002, held at the Kaleva Centre in Tampere and hosted by Maria Guzenina and Simo Frangén.
Competing entries
467 submissions were received by Yle during a submission period. A panel of experts appointed by Yle shortlisted twenty-five entries from the received submissions, and an international jury panel ultimately selected twelve entries for the competition from the shortlist. The international jury panel consisted of Maria Guzenina, Tobias Larsson, Jørgen de Mylius, Marko Reikop and Niamh White.[1]

Final
The final took place on 26 January 2002 where twelve entries competed. The winner was selected over two rounds of voting. In the first round, the top six entries were selected to proceed to the second round based on the votes of six regional juries. Each jury group distributed their points as follows: 1, 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10 points. In the second round, "Addicted to You" performed by Laura Voutilainen was selected as the winner based on the results from the public vote.[2]

At Eurovision
At the Eurovision Song Contest 2002 in Tallinn, Voutilainen sang 13th, following Sweden and preceding Denmark. At the close of the voting it had received 24 points, placing 20th in a field of twenty four, and relegating Finland from the 2003 contest - the fifth and the last time the country had been relegated.[3]
