History
The team was founded in 1931.
Francavilla was playing in lower categories until it achieved promotion to Promozione in 1993–94 and the next year was repechange to Eccellenza Basilicata.
Francavilla was promoted to Serie D after winning Eccellenza Basilicata in 2004–05 season.
Currently the team is playing for the 16th consecutive years in Serie D. During the almost entirety of this period, the club has been manager by Serbian coach Ranko Lazić, who in 2021 achieved his 500th game in charge of Francavilla.[1] Lazić left his role as head coach by the end of the 2020–21 Serie D season to become the club's new director of football.[2]
