FC Desna-3 Chernihiv

FC Desna-3 Chernihiv (Ukrainian: ФК "Десна-3" Чернігів) is the reserve or third squad of Ukrainian football club Desna Chernihiv or Under 19, from the city of Chernihiv.[1]

History

Origin

FC Desna-3 Chernihiv was established as the third squad of Ukrainian football club Desna Chernihiv or Under 19, from the city of Chernihiv. The team is currently playing in the championship of Chernihiv region for the Under Ukrainian Premier League Reserves. In 2008, the experience manager, Serhiy Bakun, who trained also Desna-2 Chernihiv and careertaken of the main club of Desna, has been appointed as head coach.[2]

Developing the academy

In summer 2021, the club decided to develop its academy including Desna 3 with Desna-2 Chernihiv and SDYuShOR Desna. The main goalkeeper of the club, Dmytro Sydorenko went to the main club Desna Chernihiv[3] to reinforce the club after the departure of Yevhen Past.[4]The club also got interested by Bohdan Lytvynenko[5][6] and the Maxim Shumilo and Igor Samoylenko who has been transferred to FC Chernihiv and starting playing in Ukrainian Second League.[7][8][9][10] In September 2021, the club signed also Artem Khatskevych, the son of Alyaksandr Khatskevich.[11][12][13][14][15][16][17]The club had also experience player like Renat Mochulyak who played in Desna Chernihiv U21 and the main club Desna Chernihiv. On 5 February 2022 the club borrow many few players to the main club Desna Chernihiv to play against FC Chernihiv in the first friendly derby match held at the Yunist Stadium in Chernihiv.[18] On 16 February 2022 the team played a friendly match, against FC Chernihiv, the second main club of the city at the Chernihiv Arena in Chernihiv.

Stadium and facilities

The team of the Desna 3 play in the Olympic sports training center "Chernihiv" (formerly Stadion Yuriya Gagarina). The Stadion Yuri Gagarin in Chernihiv was built in 1936 for 3,000 spectators in eastern portion of a city park (garden) that exists since 1804 and where previously was located residence of the Chernihiv Archbishops. The team played in Tekstylschyk stadium in Lokomotiv stadium and in the Khimik Sport Complex. Recently the team has been transferred to play in the new modern Chernihiv Arena belong to the second main club FC Chernihiv of the city who plays in Ukrainian Second League.[19][20]

Crest

The crest of the club, which was created in early 2008 contained an image of an eagle from the coat of arms of Chernihiv and a sign of Chernihiv prince Mstyslav Volodymyrovych.[21][22]
