Energy Delta Institute

Energy Delta Institute (EDI) is an international energy business school, with a primary mission to provide knowledge, education and insight in the energy transition. EDI was founded in 2002 by Gasunie, GasTerra, Gazprom and the University of Groningen, later joined by Royal Dutch Shell. Back then the primary focus was on natural gas but during the 20 years of its existence the focus has shifted to reflect the changing energy world. Setting up new programs and cooperations such as an accredited hydrogen program and Executive MBA energy transition. The energy community has come to appreciate EDI as a leading business school for acquiring expertise and knowledge on energy, as well as a platform for knowledge exchange between partners and participants alike.

EDI coordinates research projects and organises training programmes with a focus on the economic, management, legal and geopolitical aspects of the energy transition. In 2017 EDI merged with Energy Academy Europe and Energy Valley and became part of New Energy Coalition, further strengthening EDI's place in the energy transition with roots in the northern Netherlands and a strong international focus.
