In addition to a freemium version, Elementor also offers a premium version of its website builder — Elementor Pro, which includes additional features and over 900 add-ons.[4]

As of January 2021, Elementor is available in over 57 languages and ranks consistently among the 5 highest-rated WordPress page builders with over 5 million active installations worldwide.[5] It is an open-source, GPLv3 licensed platform,[6] and powers 2.24% of the top 1M websites in the world.[7]

In its first round of institutional funding, the company raised $15M from Lightspeed Venture Partners.[8]

History

Elementor was founded in 2016 by Yoni Luksenberg and Ariel Klikstein.[1]

As of August 19, 2021, Elementor has published its free plugin version 3.4.2 and its paid Elementor Pro version 3.3.7.

In May 2019, the Elementor team officially got their "Hello" theme listed at WordPress.org.[15] The Hello theme is a barebones theme framework specifically designed to pair with the Elementor page builder.[16]

Community

As of January 2021, Elementor has an active community worldwide of more than 91,300 members on Facebook.[17] Elementor's community has regular meetings worldwide. The meetings are aimed at introducing users to Elementor, helping them get started with Elementor and providing support to the community.[18]

On March 31, 2020, Elementor launched an Experts Network for Web Creators.[19]

Partnerships & acquisitions

In 2019, Elementor acquired Layers WP — a WordPress theme brand. [21] In the same year, Elementor partnered with A2 Hosting to provide a hosting account for its users.[22]

On WordPress.org, the Elementor plugin has a rating of 4.7 stars.[23] Various WordPress-oriented websites have praised Elementor for being easy-to-use, with ThemeIsle.com giving it a 9.3 rating while praising the fact that it has many templates, many different content modules, and being easy to use even for beginners.[24]
