Mehdi Sadaghdar (Persian: مهدی صدقدار, romanized: Mehdī Ṣadaqdār; born 13 January 1977), also known on YouTube as ElectroBOOM, is an Iranian-Canadian YouTube personality, electrical engineer, and comedian.[4][5][6][7]

Biography

Sadaghdar was born in Iran in 1977 and resides in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.[1][2] He was conferred a Bachelor of Applied Science from the University of Tehran in 1999 and a Master of Applied Science from Simon Fraser University in 2006.[8][9] After finishing his education, he moved to Vancouver.

His videos are "hilariously painful tutorials" of electric experiments during which he often receives electric shocks.[10][11][12][13] He intentionally creates situations where a shock (or sometimes a fire) occurs, for comedic effect, demonstrating the dangers of electricity when not properly handled.[14] His most viewed video has over 18 million views, "How NOT to make an electric guitar", which demonstrates the hazards of electricity.[15]
