Edén Muñoz

Muñoz is the youngest of four brothers of the marriage between Rodolfo Muñoz and Isidora Cantú who, by chance, life moved them to the city of Mazatlán, Sinaloa, where later his upbringing and environment would lead him fully to music.

From a very young age, Eden began to show that he was born for this, since without any shame he interpreted songs and changed the lyrics to them without knowing that later it would serve as a platform to achieve great compositions that have marked the course of regional Mexican music.

At the age of 8, Muñoz had his first approach with a guitar, which he quickly learned with the help of his brother Daniel and set the tone for the beginning of great achievements. After different castings and singing contests where he participated, in 2006 he had the opportunity to be part of a band, where he would act as vocalist and guitarist for the group called "Colmillo Norteño", which after 10 years of being founded and playing traditional norteño music, changed its style to what today is known as norteño-banda, a combination between norteño and banda sinaloense. After a short time, the needs of the band would lead Muñoz to have to learn to play the accordion in order to continue. In a short time, he became a vocalist and also composed some songs for the group.

In early 2010, due to disagreements with the other members of Colmillo Norteño, Muñoz left the band and formed his own group with the same norteño-banda concept and was called "Puro Colmillo Norteño". This did not last for him to get into trouble with his old band. In order to avoid legal conflict, the new band's name was changed to Calibre 50.

Between 2010 and 2022, Muñoz was the leader, main songwriter, main producer, vocalist, and accordionist of Calibre 50. With the band, Muñoz managed to obtain the record of the most songs that would reach #1 for a regional Mexican solo artist or band in Billboard magazine.

Muñoz has also been a composer of several hits for other regional Mexican artists.

In early 2022, Muñoz left Calibre 50 and began his solo career.[1]
