East Delhi Municipal Corporation
East Delhi Municipal Corporation (EDMC) is one of the municipal corporations in Delhi, India created after the former Municipal Corporation of Delhi was trifurcated in 2012. It occupies an area of 140 km2 (54 sq mi) which is further divided into 2 Zones (Shahdara North and Shahdara East Zone) and 64 Wards, serving the population of almost 18 lacs citizens in Delhi.[1]

East Delhi Municipal Corporation within the NCT
It is one of five local bodies in the National Capital Territory of Delhi, the others being North Delhi Municipal Corporation, South Delhi Municipal Corporation, New Delhi Municipal Council and Delhi Cantonment Board.
