Duqm Refinery
The Duqm Refinery is a refinery under construction (as of March 2022) at the Special Economic Zone at Duqm (SEZD), approximately 600km south of Muscat, Oman. It is expected to have a crude oil processing capacity of 230,000 barrels a day.[1] The key products of the refinery will be diesel, jet fuel, naphtha and LPG.[2] Once the refinery is operating it is expected to play a role in diversifying the economy of Oman.[3]

State of construction
It was reported in September 2021 that Duqm Refinery was 87% complete.[4] It is expected to begin production in the first quarter of 2023.[3]
Operator
Duqm Refinery is a strategic partnership project between the Sultanate of Oman and the State of Kuwait. It is a 50/50 joint venture between the Omani-owned OQ, a merger of Oman Oil Marketing Company and Oman Refinery Company (Orpiq), and Kuwaiti-owned Kuwait Petroleum International.[5] The project is expected to offer around 700 jobs for Omanis.[6]
