Doug Morgan (footballer, born 1890)

Douglas Morgan (18 June 1890 – 31 December 1916) was a Scottish professional footballer who played as a left back in the Football League for Hull City.[1]

Personal life

Morgan served as a gunner in the Royal Garrison Artillery during the First World War and died at a Field Ambulance in West Flanders on New Year's Eve 1916,[4] of wounds caused by a shell blast.[5][6] He was buried in Vlamertinghe Military Cemetery.[3]
