Dhaka Third Division Football League

Dhaka Third Division Football League is the fifth tier football league in Bangladesh which was established in 2003 by the Bangladesh Football Federation.[1] A total eighteen teams compete in the league.

History

The league is based in Dhaka.[2] The league is run by Dhaka Metropolition Football League Committee under supervision of Bangladesh Football Federation. The league was established in 2003. Every edition participate 12 teams.

Format

Each season about twenty teams participate in the league dividing into two groups. Every team play one match against the other teams of their group in first phase. After first phase, top five teams of each group qualify for the Super League. In Super League, every team play against each other. The teams gain 3 points for win, 1 for a draw, and none for loss. The team with most points is crowned as champions at the end of the season and top five teams promoted to the Dhaka Second Division Football League. The bottom teams of the first phase are relegated to Pioneer Football League the following season.
