History

Fec, most known as Tobacco and founder of psychedelic indie rock band Black Moth Super Rainbow, first collaborated with Hose in 2010 on the song "Lamborghini Meltdown", which was originally a collaboration between their solo projects, Tobacco and Zackey Force Funk.[2] After the release of "Lamborghini Meltdown", Fec and Hose began working on a full-length studio album together. This album went on to become Exorcise Tape, which was released by Rad Cult in 2013.[3]

Style

PopMatters described Demon Queen as "sounding like grimy synth-funk, R&B hip-hop with weird, catchy electronic backing tracks".[4] Demon Queen producer, Fec, who also produces for his other projects, Tobacco and Black Moth Super Rainbow, is known for his distinctive production sound. Instrumentation largely features usage of analogue electronic instruments such as the vocoder, synthesiser and drum machine.[5] Hose, as lead vocalist on the majority of their discography, sings in falsetto.[4]
