Production

Pakistan is one of biggest producers and exporters of dates in the world, with annual date production being more than 535,000 tons, according to data from the Trade Development Authority.[2]

The main regions for date cultivation are the Khairpur district in southern Sindh province and the Panjgur District in Baluchistan province.[2]

There are more than 160 varieties of dates palm in the Pakistan, among them the popular varieties are:

Panjgur date processing Plant

Dates processing Plant in year 2022 Panjgur Pakistan begins production with United Arab Emirates asistance[4] funded by the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD) at a cost of $6.36 million. The project area is 5,710 square metres, has a production more than 32,000 tonnes per day, and contains refrigeration that can store up to 1,500 tonnes of ready-made dates.[5][6][7]
