Early life
Daniel José Santomé Lemus was born in Santa Cruz de Tenerife,[3] 31st October 1993.[4] He was introduced to computers when he was 3 and around the age of 11-12 years old he got into 3D modelling and photo editing. He later enrolled in a multimedia degree, but decided to drop out classes due to the fact that he overtook the learning level by far, as he claimed that he already knew everything he was doing.[5]
Career

Internet career
In 2005, when the YouTube platform was created, it was dedicated to grabbing trailers in other languages to put "subtitles that didn't make any sense". "Dalas" is a combination of the first two letters of his first name, the first letter of his second last name and the first two letters of his first name the other way around.[5] His main channel "Dalas Review" was created in 2012.[6] In July 2017, Dalas won the Tolete Award for his parody of the Canarian accent in a video entitled "Imitating 15 accents of Spain and Latin America (Very Bad)".[7] In January 2021 Daniel created a Pornhub account where he intended to upload videos about sexual education (currently, the account is unavailable).[8]
Writing career
In 2016, he released Fugitivos en el tiempo (Fugitives in Time),[5] a science fiction novel starring Uriel and based on time travel,[9] "Fugitives in Time" sold 16,000 units in four editions, and in addition he signed several copies of his book in Malaga.[10] On November 14, 2017, released La tinta. Más allá de la magia, a novel that tells the story of Sveia, a diagnosed young woman who is misunderstood both by her environment and by her bad relationship with her parents and classmates. But soon she will see herself immense in a magical world inhabited by supernatural creatures. Dalas during the launch of his book, I affirm that instead of the traditional book signings, he would carry out a kind of shows that would include activities that include reading a fragment of his book.[11]
Stardeos
In August 2021, he released the beta version of the website Stardeos, a site similar to YouTube,[12] for which he invested in for a total of 9 months,[13] and that he would try to be more permissive with the creators, in addition they would receive higher income than on other platforms.[12] Among the main premises of the website are not to censor videos and not to delete channels, unless a judge dictates it,[14] on other hand the videos will not be demonetized.[15]
During the first four hours after the release, the website was down due to high traffic of more than 150,000 users per minute.[16] This is due to the fact that the capacity of the servers that Dalas hired could not support large amounts of connected users.[17] In October 2021, the Stardeos platform would be active again and the Wrixy website, a place where you could publish novels or any literature related content went offline due to Dalas not being able to pay maintenance costs on time, specifically about 5 days.[18][19]
On October 20, 2021, he uploaded the video "Por esto no subo videos" ("This is why I do not upload videos"), in which he mentions several anecdotes of the 200 people who were involved in the project. He explained that several of those who were going to work on the project ended up admitting that they simply wanted to personally chat with him. He also mentions that he contacted "apparently serious" companies, of which one of them did not meet even 15% of the progress they promised they were going to make in the project. On the other hand, his sleep hours decreased when he went to work on the Stardeos project, after the fall that he had a few months ago.[20]
During the development of Stardeos, Daniel contacted some YouTubers and streamers to ask them to create a Stardeos account to upload demonetized videos from other platforms. Among them were Arigameplays and Juan Guarnizo, who completely ignored his messages, causing Dalas to get upset,[21] and stop following them.[22] After that, the streamer Gonsabellla spoke about the subject and affirmed that among those people whom Dalas contacted to enter the Stardeos project, were Arigameplays and Juan Guarnizo.[18]
In March 2022, he uploaded a video on Stardeos titled "El PRIMER vídeo EXCLUSIVO de Stardeos: Hijos de puta de Twitter" where he insults, despises and threatens alleged haters from Twitter, in that same video he states that he would upload videos of the same style only for paying subscribers. Later uploaded another video under title "Exponiendo a los PUTOS CERDOS HIPÓCRITAS que lloriquean por el último video".[23][24]
Other works
Dalas has worked on some video game projects like: Fur Fun, an adventure and platform video game in 3D,[25] released via Steam[26] on February 10, 2017, and developed by a friend named Doky, using the program known as Unreal Engine 4.[27] The origin of the development began in September 2016 with a campaign of Kickstarter, under the title of "Kewpie - Jazzy", a video game strongly inspired by those of Rare. The project aimed to raise 92,000 euros, however only 650 would be raised. On December 8 of that year it would return under the new name "Fur Fun".[28]
Fur Fun after its official launch on Steam, received generally negative reviews,[26] and some websites in English and Italian like Eurogamer or NRSGamers they talked about the subject.[27][29] In January 2018, he announced that he would remove the game from Steam.[26] At the beginning of 2020, Dalas announced that he was looking for someone who is a programmer and who knows animation and modeling to help develop "Fur Fun 2", on February 12, 2020, Ricardo Guerrero published an article criticizing Daniel.[30]
In August of that same year dedicated himself for the second time to looking for programmers to assist in the development of the new game.[31] On December 23, 2021, Daniel after having a private conversation with an anonymous person,[32] he claimed that he received 10 million euros in Bitcoin,[33] Dalas added that his plan was to raise as much money as possible to open his laboratory and thus "cure the greatest disease of human beings: aging."[32]
Personal life
At first, he lived in Barcelona,[34] and he currently lives in Ireland with his girlfriend Lizy P, to save taxes.[35][36][37] His sister is Ariadna Cabrero Lemus, known on social media as Ariann Music.[38] Dalas has also been in controversy for several of his comments on politics, he has publicly shown his support for Republican Donald Trump and the Spanish right-wing party Vox.[39][40][41][42]
He has also been criticized for supposedly having done "misogynistic, homophobic and racist comments."[43][44] In 2019 he had an operation on his nose and uploaded the video "ya me operé... (y estoy HORRIBLE)".[45] In a video uploaded on September 28, 2021, he states that even if habits are changed, it will be impossible to stop climate change.[46][47]
Controversies
Dalas, Argos and Miare (2016-2021)
The relationship between Daniel Santomé Lemus and María Rubio Sánchez (Miare) ended in March 2016, reason why Miare announced through a tweet the break in her relationship with Dalas on March 8 of that same year, on other hand Naya Chimlova published a video where she explained why they had finished (currently that video is not available),[48] in addition Dalas put a tweet relating his version.[49] However, on April 19, 2016, Daniel uploaded a video titled "Estoy harto de mentiras y por eso hago este vídeo",[50] a video in which he responds to Miare and her accusations against him of being a "stalker".[51] In August 2016, Interviu published "You're useless, you're a whore", a headline that shows fragments of the complaint that Miare filed against Dalas in July of that same year in a Barcelona court, whom he described as a "jealous and controlling" person.[52]
On other hand Miare was left with a greyhound named Argos which was adopted in 2015, which is why Dalas sued her to return her dog in June 2016, after having had the trial in July 2017, Dalas won the lawsuit and Miare was forced to return the dog to Dalas.[50][53][54] However, Miare upload a half-hour video explaining why he did not agree with the judicial sentence,[50] in addition shows some supposed WhatsApp conversations in which Dalas "admitted to having mistreated the dog". These conversations were denied by Dalas in a video uploaded on July 12, 2017, and titled "tenía otro vídeo preparado, pero este mal rollo nunca acabará".[53] Later he uploaded "por fin puedo decir qué pasó en el juicio y veréis la verdad de quien miente" in July 14 and "mi historia con las mentirosas" in July 19 (in the latter he is dedicated to responding to the video of "mi historia con Dalas" made by Anne Reburn).[55] On other hand Miare went to explain her version to Fina Brunet on TV3's Els Matins.[56]
Later Miare supposedly lost Argos, which is why his father supposedly adopts another greyhound named Marlos,[54] and Dalas put a complaint against Miare and her mother for misappropriation of the animal, based on that Marlos was actually Argos.[57] On December 28, 2018, Dalas, Lizy P and some two of his friends went to the Sant Joan Despí neighborhood, Barcelona, where they found Miare's mother walking the animal to demand that they return the dog. At that moment, the father of his ex gave a strong punch to his girlfriend Lizy P and her mother decided to repeatedly bite a friend of Dalas who was there at the time. This fact led to Lizy P ending up in the emergency room due to pain and Dalas, for his part, recorded and uploaded that same video titled "Miradlo por favor. Tienen a Argos y le pegaron a Lizy".[58] In August 2019, he uploaded a video announcing that he denounced Miare for the crime of false complaint.[59][60]
On February 3, 2021, the complaint for misappropriation of Argos against Miare and his mother was ultimately archived after an expert assured that the dog was not Argos. After that, Dalas uploaded on April 23 a 56-minute video titled "Tienen a mi perro secuestrado y estoy desesperado ya", in which he assure that the expert had been convinced to made the report where they denied that they were the same dog. On the other hand, Miare published a tweet in which he talks about how Dalas supposedly called them "counterfeiters, liars, manipulators and sons of bitches", in addition her affirmed that he "had been changing history to his benefit at the rate of each judicial defeat."[57] On April 27 he uploaded "Buenas Noticias: La Veterinaria Rectifica. Sí es mi perro", in which he shows how the veterinarian retracted the statement he showed a few months ago, also giving weight to the possibility that this dog is Argos.[61]
Así es Dalas Review (2017-2018)
On October 4, 2017, Wismichu uploaded a video titled "Así es Dalas Review",[62] video that since 2021 has 20 million views,[63] and in which apart from bringing out the "miseries" of Dalas Review,[64] he accuses of having several complaints for gender violence,[65] besides insinuating that he fled to Ireland to escape the Spanish law.[66] It refers to him with the pejorative phrases "miserable", "psychopath", "hyena",[67] "bad person", "wretch" and "bastard".[68]
After the Wismichu video, Daniel lost around 310,000 subscribers, going from having 5,700,000 to 5,390,000, this made Dalas Review hide his channel's subscriber count temporarily.[69] On the other hand, Dalas protected his Twitter account on October 5, 2017,[70] however on October 6 of that year, it would be available again,[71] and his YouTube channel was subsequently deleted.[72][73] However, his channel's deletion would not last long, since a few hours later Dalas's channel was reinstated.[74]
In March 2018 I would have an interview with the Los Replicantes, in which he talked about a video in which he would show court documents and evidence that would disprove the lies told against him.[4] On 18 May 2018, Santomé published "se acabó, wismichu e ingrid",[62] also known as "el video definitivo" (the definitive video), an hour and forty minutes video in which he denied, all one by one, the accusations made by Wismichu and his ex-girlfriend, Ingrid Míchel (also known as "SoyMia").[52][66]
Complaint against Wismichu (2018-2021)
In 2018, Daniel sued Ismael for the alleged crime of libel and slander committed in the video "Así es Dalas Review", claiming a penalty of nine months in jail, and a 15,000 euros fine.[75] At the end of 2019 Santomé uploaded to his main channel a video titled "Denuncié a Wismichu" (I Sued Wismichu), video in which he talks about the lawsuit filed a year earlier against Prego for the video that "damaged his career". In addition to that, in the video itself, Daniel Santome mentions everything that happened after the video of "Así es Dalas Review".[76]
After several months of that video, on December 17, 2020, the trial was finally held where it would be analyzed whether or not Wismichu actually slandered Dalas.[65] In 2021, the 25th criminal court of Barcelona acquitted Ismael Prego of the accusations of slander and insults perpetuated by Daniel Santome.[77][78]
Video series against Wismichu
On 11 February 2021, Dalas uploaded a video titled "Wismichu: Condenado y con Antecedentes Penales" (Wismichu Convicted and with a Criminal Record), in which it Dalas shows Ismael's criminal record,[79] to which he had access when he denounced Wismichu. According to account Dalas Review, Wismichu was sentenced to 6 months in prison for cutting the head of a 21-year-old man with a glass bottle,[80] however assures that it was not made public because Ismael Prego had silenced the Spanish judicial system.[81] In addition, it ensures that he has at his disposal some supposed audios of Ingrid leaked by a friend of his, that would leave Ismael at the height of an abuser.[79]
During the 2021 controversy he accused Ismael of searching for teenagers to ask them to strip naked, with the intention of recording them and publishing them on their website without censorship. On the other hand, he made an appeal to speak with any of his alleged victims to present his case, and as a consequence, an alleged victim appeared in a February 16 video entitled "Testimony of a Victim of Wismichu" to recount that when she was 14 years old, she showed her boobs together with a friend of hers in one of the Chatroulettes that Wismichu recorded.[82][79]
Child grooming allegations
In April 2018, a 15-year-old Argentina girl named Olivia shared on her Twitter account several screenshots, videos and directs from the supposed conversations she had with Dalas in 2016, the year in which she was about 13 years old. She points out that Dalas sent public photos of his Instagram in his pool without being completely naked, and also shows an identity document to confirm her age.[83] This topic was addressed by the Mexican Diego Mexivergas in a direct with Dalas from March of that same year and in 2021, Fabían Pasos, a YouTuber known as Mafian TV interviews this alleged victim from Dalas in a video titled "La Verdad Oscura de Dalas Review", Olivia, known on social networks as Olita de Mar, affirmed that Dalas supposedly contacted his father to intimidate him.[84] On November 1, 2020, a Twitter psychologist known as Heleven published a thread in which she talks about the concept of "parasocial grooming" and explains how, according to her, Dalas is supposedly an example of this practice. In that same thread she also gives an example to the American YouTuber Shane Dawson.[85]
Complaint of child sexual abuse
In 2016, he was denounced for "harassment and sexual abuse of minors",[52] and on 30 November 2018, Daniel Santome was tried for that crime against 13-year-old adolescent.[86] In addition the Madrid prosecution asked for 5 years in jail,[87][88] 11 of disqualification,[89] and 9 years of estrangement.[90] According to the testimony of the minor of 13, she and Dalas began to communicate through Twitter in 2015 and Dalas sent her a photo of his torso.[91] This photo was published by him on his twitter, a fact that he explained during the trial.[92]
They did not meet in person until 26 January 2016,[93] when she attended a signing of her book "Fugitivos en el Tiempo" held in Madrid, Spain. Both continued talking on WhatsApp and on 8 February 2016,[94] he accompanied her at the Atocha station where he supposedly kissed her and proposed to go to her hotel, but how she refused.[95]
Later he went to the Retiro park, place where he allegedly kissed her and touched her vaginal area and her breasts.[96] Dalas defended himself saying that the photo of the naked torso was a photo that had already been published before, however he admitted that they indeed met in person in 2016 during his book signing. Regarding the alleged sexual encounter that took place on February 8, 2016, I affirm that «it would not have occurred to me in my life to kiss or anything else with someone in a park». Regarding Atocha, he affirms that he was there for about 15 minutes to be able to sign a book that he did not manage to sign. He also adds that they never went to the "Parque del Retiro".[95]
On the other hand, Dalas flatly denied having had any sexual interest with her. He also affirmed that he spoke a lot with her because she assured of her from having various problems at school to suffering abuse from her mother.[97] Daniel Santome in one of the videos talking about the case, ensures that Miare's mother "is the main precursor of having advanced the news and rubbing shoulders with the pink press."[91] In December 2018, the Provincial Court of Madrid acquitted Daniel Santome due to lack of evidence after the evidence and witnessing brought to the court was proven to be forged.[98][99]
