Convergence Festival
Convergence Festival is an annual sustainable living festival held in Ireland. Running since 2000, and organised by the Sustainable Ireland Cooperative Society, the festival features a combination of events relating to sustainable development.[1]
History
The first Convergence Festival took place in Dublin's Temple Bar in the year 2000.[2] Held every year since (twice in some years) it has featured conferences, forums and debates on green building, sustainable economies and resilient communities. The 2005 schedule included dance and wellness events.[3]
According to the organisers: "for more than a decade this unique programme of events has celebrated community resilience and social inclusion whilst championing the changes needed to create a sustainable economy, society and built environment".[4]
In 2015 and 2017, Convergence Festival events took place in Galway.[5][6] The 2019 schedule included a "road show" of meetings "across Ireland".[2]
