Controller General of Defence Accounts

Controller General of Defence Accounts (CGDA) heads the Defence Accounts Department (DAD), which is one of the oldest government organisations in India. CGDA functions under the Ministry of Defence of India. CGDA is the cadre controlling authority of the Indian Defence Accounts Service , an organised Group 'A' Civil Service of Government of India.[1][2][3]

Currently there are total 23 Principal Controller of Defence Accounts (PCDA) and Controller of Defence Accounts (CDA) under Controller General of Defence Accounts (CGDA).[4] And there are 46 Pay Accounts Office (PAO) under respective PCDA and CDA

DAD HQrs
  • DAD HQrs is located at Ulan Batar Road, Palam, Delhi Cantt. This HQrs has different Wings depending on the work handled by them. Some of the Wings are Establishment Wing, Personnel Wing, Pension Wing, Pay & Allowances Wing, IT&S Wing,etc. Each Wing functions under the overall supervision of Jt. CGDA/Sr. Jt. CGDA. The office premises comes under the DHQ Security Zone and entry of visitors is subject to conditions.
