Cheng Li Hui

Cheng Li Hui PBM (Chinese: 钟丽慧; pinyin: Zhōng Lìhuì; born 1976)[1] is a Singaporean politician and businesswoman. A member of the governing People's Action Party (PAP), she is the Member of Parliament (MP) representing the Tampines East ward of Tampines GRC since 2015. Cheng has also been the deputy chief executive officer and executive director of Hai Leck Holdings since 2012.[2][3]

Career

Political career

Prior to joining politics, Cheng had 12 years of grassroots experience, helping out with the People's Action Party's Bukit Panjang branch with its Meet-the-People sessions.[4] She is also vice-chairman of a grassroots committee in Tampines East.[5] Cheng contested and won in the 2015 general elections under the Tampines Group Representation team.[6] She was appointed as a deputy district advisor for PAP Women's Wing in 2016.[7]

Awards

Personal life

Cheng graduated from the National University of Singapore with a Bachelor of Arts degree. She later pursued a Master of Applied Finance degree from Macquarie University.[8]

She is the daughter of Cheng Buck Poh, the founder and Executive Chairman of Hai Leck Holdings.

She has three siblings; Don Cheng Yao Tong, Cheng Li Chen and Cheng Wee Ling.[11][12]
