Cambodia national cricket team
The Cambodian national cricket team There is no National cricket team that represents the nation of Cambodia in international cricket competitions that is administered by the Cricket Association of Cambodia. In Dec 2021 Cricket Federation Cambodia Association (CFCA) is established as a Local Non-profit, Non-governmental Sports association to govern the cricket activities at National and International Levels. Most of the Federation Board members are Local Cambodian those took initiative to form a Legal and constitutional body that can perform the activities in Cambodia. Cricket Federation Cambodia (CFCA) got its Legal Status on 3rd Dec 2021 through Parkas No 3159PRK by Ministry of interior Royal government of Cambodia. The Cricket Federation Cambodia Association (CFCA) gained the international Membership of ICWC International Council for wheelchair Cricket and in its beginning got an opportunity to represent its National Wheelchair Cricket Team at T-20 ASIA CUP to be Held in Pakistan in 2023.[1][2]

Cambodia applied for Asian Cricket Council membership, which was granted in 2012.[3] The Cricket Association also plans to apply for membership of the National Olympic Committee. Unfortunately, there was not development happened since 2012 and latter this membership was suspended.
Cricket in the former French colony of Cambodia is still a mainly expatriate game at senior level, and a growing interest with the younger set of boys that play. Additionally, a structured cricket league is being planned in the country with the help of the Thailand Cricket League and that the National Stadium, Phnom Penh and Army Stadium will be available. Cambodia is planned to host the 2023 Southeast Asian Games and a cricket ground could be funded and built.[4] A cricket ground 10km from the capital began construction and was expected to be ready by October 2014.[5]
The Cricket Association planned to join the International Cricket Council as an Affiliate Member in 2013,[6] but in 2014 it was reported that this was some way in the future yet.[5] In March 2020, the Cambodia Cricket Association announced that a Cambodia Board XI team would tour Singapore in April 2020 to play three T20 matches, to prepare for associate ICC membership.[7][8]
Cricket Federation Cambodia Announced its First International cricket Event dedicated to its Prime Minister Hun Sen "Samdech Hun Sen Asia Peace Cup 2022" to be held in Nov 2022 in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. This is the first cricket tournament in the history of Cricket of Cambodia. This tournament will be played between more than 10 Asian Countries Like India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Srilanka, Afghanistan, Nepal, Thailand, Vietnam, Laos and many other countries may join it tournament. Samdech Hun Sen Asia peace cup will be played as Tennis Cricket and Para Cricket Teams from these participating Countries. This announcement was made through a press conference in Phnom Penh on 21st April 2022 after formal acceptance of the proposal by His Excellency Yi Vesana Advisor to Royal Government of Kingdom of Cambodia and Secretary General of National Paralympic Committee of Cambodia. HE Yi Vesana is also Honorary Chairman of Cricket Federation Cambodia Association.[9]
