CSS Countess
Countess was built in 1860 in Cincinnati, Ohio, and served the Confederates in the Mississippi River area. Maj. Gen. J. G. Walker, CSA, retained Countess to help evacuate Alexandria, Louisiana, before the arrival of Union forces, and set fire to her after she grounded in the rapids at Alexandria.
