CPC and World Political Parties Summit

The Communist Party of China and World Political Parties Summit (Chinese: 中国共产党与世界政党领导人峰会) was an international relations video conference between various international political parties, including both governing and non-governing parties, held on 6 July 2021. It was chaired by Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). The summit involved representatives from 500 political parties across 160 countries.[2] The theme of the summit was "For the People's Wellbeing: The Responsibility of Political Parties".[1]

Proceedings

Xi Jinping, CCP General Secretary and the host of the summit, thanked national and political party representatives who sent well wishes to the CCP on its 100th anniversary. He called on political parties worldwide to shoulder historic responsibility for the pursuit of the people's wellbeing and progress of mankind.[1] He also renewed a call to work towards building a community with a shared future for mankind, and voiced rejection towards technology blockades, developmental decoupling,[2] as well as unilateralism, hegemony and power politics.[3]

Various national and political party leaders took turns to congratulate CCP's anniversary, and pledged international cooperation and dialogue.
