Bashir Y. Jamoh
Bashir Yusuf Jamoh is a Nigerian public servant who was born on the 2nd day of February, 1964 in Zaria to Yusuf Jamoh and Hajiya Salamatu Sani. He attended the Kofar Kuyambana Primary School in Zaria and obtained a secondary education at the Kaduna Teachers’ Training College Kaduna. He became the chief executive officer of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency in March 2020.[1] He is currently the National President of the Chartered Institute of Transport Administration of Nigeria (CIOTA).[2]

Education
Bashir began formal education at the Kofar Kuyambana Primary School in Zaria and qualified to be a Grade II teacher at the Kaduna Teacher's College, Kaduna in 1985. In 1986, he studied at the Institute of Administration at Ahmadu Bello University to obtain a Diploma in Accounting. He also attended Bayero University to obtained a Post Graduate Diploma in Management in 1993 and a Master of Science degree in Management from Korea Maritime and Ocean University, South Korea in 1997. He studied at the University of Port Harcourt, to obtain a Doctor of Philosophy in Logistics and Transport Management in 2019.
Early career
In 1987 Bashir began his career as an Accountant, and later as an Assistant Produce Purchase Manager in 1989 at the Farmers Supply Company Co. Ltd., Kaduna; and thereafter, as Principal Procurement Officer. He gained employment at the defunct National Maritime Authority (NMA) where he functioned as Principal Commercial Officer, Operations: Dry/Wet Cargo, Port Services Controller, Onne Port, Port Harcourt, Rivers State and as Port Services Controller, Tin-Can Island Port, Apapa, Lagos.
In August 2006, when the National Maritime Authority was merged with the Nigerian Joint Maritime Labour Industrial Council to form the current Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Bashir continued as Assistant Chief Commercial Officer, Eastern and Central Zones till 2007. In March 2007 he was designated Assistant Chief Administrative Officer and Chief Administrative Officer (Training). In July 2009 he functioned as assistant director, Operations (Wet/Dry Cargo), and from September 2010 to December 2010 he became assistant director (Research). In December 2010 he was promoted to the position of Protocol and Logistics Officer, and in March 2011 as assistant director in charge of training and development. In August 2016 to March 2020 he functioned as the executive director in charge of Finance and Administration of the Nigerian maritime agency.[3] [4] In March 2020 Bashir was appointed Director-General and chief executive officer, Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) by President Muhammadu Buhari[5][6]
Ad Hoc Duties
As a government official in Nigeria, Bashir has functioned in ad hoc capacities. In 2016 he functioned as member of the Sub-Committee of Analysis of Consolidated International Migration Organisation (IMO) Audit Summary Reports issued under the voluntary phase of the scheme; member Committee on the Implementation modalities of a study report on performance-Based Reward framework for the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency; member, Committee on Development of Job Description for the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency; and member, Four-Point Agenda Philosophy and Vision of NIMASA Executive Management (Change Agents Group IV). In 2017, he functioned as member, Nigerian delegation to the Launch of the European Union funded “Gulf of Guinea Inter-regional Network (GoGIN) Project“ in the West African Region in Yaoundé, Republic of Cameroon; and a member of Nigeria's delegation to the meeting of the G7++ Group of Friends of the Gulf of Guinea in June, 2017 in Rome, Italy.

Family
Bashir is married with children.
