During the Soviet period, the village was a part of the Hadrut District of the Nagorno-Karabakh Autonomous Oblast.

During the First Nagorno-Karabakh War, the village was destroyed as part of Operation Ring, conducted by Soviet Internal Security Forces and OMON units. It was captured by the Armenian Army on October 2, 1992 and was administrated as part of the Hadrut Province of the self-proclaimed Republic of Artsakh. During the 2020 Nagorno-Karabakh war, the village was liberated by Azerbaijani forces.
