Bald Move

Bald Move is a podcasting company, founded by Peter Street, Jim Jones and A. Ron Hubbard. Its flagship show is hosted by Jones and Hubbard.[1] The company features weekly podcasts covering popular television shows, including Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead, and Breaking Bad. In July 2017, Game of Thrones The Podcast, their podcast on the HBO series, was the number one podcast on American iTunes.[2]

History

Bald Move was founded by longtime friends Peter Street, A. Ron Hubbard and Jim Jones. Hubbard's wife, Cecily Hubbard, is a regular co-host. All 3 founding members are former Jehovah's Witnesses.[3] Street exited the business after a disagreement with Hubbard regarding the direction of the company. Jones, who had started podcasting with Street years before Hubbard joined the group, sided with Hubbard after Street began showing up late for recording sessions.

Podcasts

As of January 2022, Bald Move features at least 37 free podcasts dedicated to a single show or theme, of which 26 are no longer “aired” but remain visible on the website.[4]

The two main regular casts, Bald Move Prestige and Bald Move Pulp, offer reviews of movies and TV shows that are on current release or air on the various streaming services. Prestige focuses on movies that have a serious theme, are a cinematic classic (that wouldn't otherwise qualify for the Pulp show), and follow more grounded topics.

Pulp is broader-scope, where the hosts discuss shows and movies that are outside the more down-to-earth themes, and where you'll find them digging into superhero and fantasy lore, but still with their unique insight into the greater world.
